SAMMAMISH BUSINESSES MISS THE COMMUNITY. COVID-19. FOR HISTORY SAKE.
As a photographer, I am always thinking about history. Today’s events will be tomorrow’s history. Documenting history and freezing memories is what I do because I believe it is important. Covid-19 has closed businesses all across the world, including my own. This is history in the making and the days, weeks and months that we have been closed will be remembered forever.
We’ve been working on a project to document the history of the current times in the Sammamish community, and also to express how much businesses miss customers and want to be together again. We photographed some of the faces behind Sammamish Businesses at their front porches and storefronts. Whether “essential” or not, businesses are grieving their relationships with customers and look forward to doing business again soon!
We hope you enjoy our video.
Thank you to all the businesses and Sammamish Chamber members that participated in this project. We are all in this together and we will get through this.
